Our Group undertake all manner of electrical, mechanical, building and interior fit out works, from design and installation to after care service & maintenance. Reports to: The Managing Director

To co-ordinate, support and advise the Group on all aspects with regards to Health, Safety and Environmental matters. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health, Safety and the Environment are adhered to.

Role Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health or safety.
Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are
adhered to and regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all operations.
Ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are documented, investigated and recommended improvements are implemented.
Develop, maintain and improve working relationships with engineers and management to ensure mutual trust and respect, based on superior service delivery.
Maintain our culture of proactivity around health and safety on our customer’s sites.
Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
Co-ordinate the development of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, systems of work and procedures.
Ensure full and accurate health, safety and environmental training records are maintained.
Liaise with external training providers for the provision of training.
Manage the agenda for the chairperson and formulate and distribute minutes for the Health and Safety Committee meetings. Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
Provide regular monthly reports to the Board of Directors on relevant health, safety and environmental activities.
Purchase PPE and Corporate clothing. Maintain the PPE records for employees and sub-contractors.
Complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires.
Complete COSHH Risk Assessments and maintain the COSHH Assessment / MSDS Database
Liaise with the Directors and Senior Managers on the DBS status of their staff and advise when re-checks are due
Complete 3rd Party Accreditation Questionnaires, e.g: Alcumus Safe Contractor, Altius, Avetta etc.
Liaise with suppliers, e.g: PPE providers, Insurers, solicitors etc.
Maintain the Fleet Vehicle Service Schedules
Drive safety leadership and behavioural safety, up-hold company core values.

Personnel Specification:

Qualifications & Experience:
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within our industry.
NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified. (Essential)
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ or NCRQ (not essential)
NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (not essential)
COSHH Trained
Provision of advice to managers/supervisors
Handling of Health, safety and environmental investigations
Experience of formulating, implementing and revising health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in the contracting, facilities maintenance, or manufacturing industries.
